Failed Dissertation
If you fail a dissertation, you will usually be given an opportunity to re-submit it by an agreed-upon date. As with a module failure, the marks awarded for a re-submitted dissertation will usually be capped at a bare pass level.
Has anyone failed their dissertation?
Technically speaking, it is rare for one to fail a dissertation because it's not a paper one writes for two hours or one week. Such a paper takes months or even years to complete.
What can make you fail a dissertation?
Students face pitfalls in their dissertations that lead them to fail because they are not presented the right way. They contain typing mistakes, grammatical errors, referencing mistakes, and inconsistencies in the overall structure that end up displeasing the committee members.
