Hares can found in Africa, Eurasia, North America, and some parts of Japan. They like to live in areas that have plenty of trees, bushes, and other vegetation that can hide them.
Do hare live in burrows?
It grazes on vegetation and the bark of young trees and bushes. Brown hares do not dig burrows, but shelter in 'forms', which are shallow depressions in the ground or grass; when disturbed, they can be seen bounding across the fields, using their powerful hind legs to propel them forwards, often in a zigzag pattern.
What is a hares nest called?
This is known as a 'form'. They are often made in the shelter of a grass tussock or a rock which will give some protection from the wind. Forms which are used to give birth to young may be lined with fur which the mother has plucked from her own fur coat.
