The upcoming third season of Starz's Spartacus will be its last. The premium cable network and showrunner Steven S. DeKnight agreed to conclude the Liam McIntyre starrer with a 10-episode run titled War of the Damned, which will kick off in January.

Why did they cancel Spartacus?

Any normal studio would have just cancelled the show at that point and not risk the financial downside of it not working. But Starz, thankfully, really stuck by the show, and they really wanted it to be told all the way to the end. They didn't want to cheat the viewers and just suddenly pull the plug.

Will there be a season 5 of Spartacus?

Starz will begin to say farewell to Spartacus in January. The cable network on Tuesday announced that the final season of Spartacus — subtitled War of the Damned — will return on Friday, Jan. 25 at 9 p.m.
