Even though a pet snake doesn't need to travel around a large territory, it does need space to move around. A crowded tank can stress your snake out. When snakes become anxious, they'll bury themselves and become less active.
Why do ball pythons bury themselves?
If your ball python is burying itself or burrowing a lot under substrate or a water dish, it could mean that it's not feeling secure in its hides or that the cage is too open. Also, it could mean that the temperatures in your ball python's cage are not ideal.
How do I know when my snake is dying?
Changes in normal behaviors, such as loss of appetite, isolative behaviors, and discoloration along their underside, are all symptoms that merit a trip to your vet. Lethargy, limpness, and hazy eyes also indicate that your snake has a problem and could be dying.
