Is Smite useful Minecraft?

For fighting undead mobs such as the wither, Smite is the better option. Fully powered up to level V, Smite can add a whopping 12.5 damage to any weapon of any base damage, and if you have a diamond sword it will be even more effective, and you will be killing mobs without vigorous effort.

Is Smite better than sharpness for the Wither?

yes it does more damage. with a netherite sword, smite 5 does 10 hearts of damage to undead mobs in a single swing while sharpness 5 only does around 7.5 hearts of damage in bedrock edition. in java edition, its 5.5 hearts, so smite has an even bigger advantage in java edition against undead mobs.
