What Is a Kantus?

What Is a Kantus?
Kantus comes from Latin cantus meaning 'having been sung' and references its deafening, debilitating and functional battle cry. In the Gears of War comic "Barren Part 4", a Kantus is seen screeching in order to revive a fallen comrade. This screeching is translated into the text as Locust Runes.

How tall is savage Kantus?

The Kantus were a subspecies of the Locust in the Gears of War universe. They acted as priests and the religious leadership of the Horde and were led by the Locust High Priest, Skorge. They were taller than typical Locust Drones, standing at almost 7 feet, and had the same leathery white flesh that all Locust have.

How were the locust created?

The Locust were created by the Coalition of Ordered Governments during the Pendulum Wars, originating from genetic experiments at the New Hope Research Facility. Doctor Niles Samson studied the children of Imulsion miners in order to find a cure for Rustlung.
