Kelly Monaco is a model and actress, best known for her role on General Hospital, an ABC soap opera, where she played the role of Sam McCall. She is also famous for being the winner of Dancing With the Stars (season one), the reality competition series. She is also remembered as the April 1997 Playmate.
Speaking of his involvement with the charity, in July 2009, Monaco, along with other celebrities, brought food, supplies, and other resources to people living in Africa. In addition to this, on October 24, 2009, the actress, along with some of her colleagues from General Hospital, helped redesign and improve an old school in Los Angeles, as part of the Participa campaign.

Kelly Monaco was born on May 23, 1976 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States to Albert “Al” and Camina Monaco. She is American by nationality and of white ethnicity. Kelly has four brothers; Marissa, Amber, Carmina and Christine.
After the family moved to the Poconos, she began her acting career with acting classes at Pocono Mountain High School. After high school, she got a job as a lifeguard at one of the local resorts. Kelly worked there for a while before going to Northampton Community College.

Kelly later got her big break when she submitted her photo to Playboy in 1996. The following year, in 1997, she became Playmate of the Month for April 1997. Her first television role was on the drama series Baywatch which developed from 1997 1998. The actress also has some roles in movies like BASEketball, Mumford and Idle Hands.
Monaco then joined the cast of General Hospital, the ABC soap opera in September 2003, where she played Samantha McCall. In 2003 and 2006, Kelly was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress for her role in General Hospital and Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role in Port Charles and, respectively.
